The Social Impact actions of the PPGCF (Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences) can be based on various drivers of processes and strategies aimed at promoting sustainability, conservation, and social, economic, and environmental development. Some of the main process drivers include:

PPGCF Strategic Plan 2021–2024

The Strategic Plan establishes goals for the modernization and sustainability of its research lines, expansion of the necessary infrastructure for research execution, and policies for faculty accreditation/renewal. Below are some examples of actions aimed at generating social impact:

a. Improve and qualify faculty output for higher Qualis/CAPES rankings, encouraging faculty members and students to publish in high-impact journals (Quartiles 1 and 2, JCR, SJR);

b. Engage with basic education by promoting scientific initiation programs for basic education students and organizing outreach events in basic education schools;

d. Increase social engagement through Social Projects involving faculty and students, with a goal of three social projects per year.

Self-Assessment

The program’s self-assessment is a key component to ensure that activities carried out during the 2021–2024 period align with CAPES’s evaluation criteria. A committee is planned to be created to conduct annual self-assessment surveys targeting different segments of the academic community.

Dissertation/Thesis Projects

Align the main intellectual outputs of the faculty with the program’s research lines. Permanent faculty members must align their research with the PPGCF research line they are part of, as well as with their research projects. In addition, they are expected to submit research proposals to funding agencies, aiming for more than 50% of permanent faculty members to have funded research projects.

Outreach Activities

Activities focused on transferring knowledge to society, such as courses and training; service provision benefiting the community; and organizing outreach events in basic education schools, with a goal of three social projects per year.
